Kissing Goodbye to Sepsis
Sepsis is a life threatening condition that arises when the body’s response to an infection injures its own tissues and organs. Sepsis leads to shock, multiple organ failure and death especially if not recognised early and treated promptly.
At the James Paget University Hospital we are determined to fight Sepsis and improve outcomes for septic patients. To reduce mortality, immediate aggressive treatment in the first hour of resuscitation is vital.
Focus Games Ltd, the UK Sepsis Trust and NHS England created an educational board game, The Sepsis Game, to help healthcareprofessionals recognise and treat sepsis. They have now created an app version of the game especially for the James Paget to help everyone understand more about sepsis.
